Dr. Ayman Matta, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Ayman Matta, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the Director of the New York Eye Institute. Dr. Matta is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Matta specializes in Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Corneal Transplants, Medical and Laser Retina Surgery, including LASIK, PRK, PTK , AK , and Lens Exchange Therapy.
Dr. Matta completed medical school and his internship at Ain Shams University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens and the State University of New York, Stony Brook at the Nassau University Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Anterior Segment and Cornea & Refraction at the Bucci Cataract and Laser Vision Institute in Pennsylvania.
Dr. AnnMarie Barsoum, O.D.
Dr. Barsoum is a primary care optometrist practicing at the NJ Eye Institute. She is dedicated to providing exceptional eye care while enhancing the visual health for all of her patients. She utilizes the latest advancements within the optometric field to ensure the highest optimal outcome for each patient. She specializes in glaucoma management, comprehensive diabetic eye exams, contact lens fittings, and myopia management. Dr. Barsoum graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor of science in Biology, as well as a minor in Psychology. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She is also a committed member of New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, as well as The American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Ashely Bachkhaz, O.D.
Dr. Bachkhaz is an optometrist at NJ Eye Institute’s Clifton Office, specializing in comprehensive eye care. She expertly handles contact lens fittings, vision prescriptions, and the management of dry eye syndrome. Collaborating closely with the office’s ophthalmologists, Dr. Bachkhaz ensures a seamless experience for patients, providing personalized care and advanced treatment options. Her commitment to eye health and patient education makes her a valued member of the NJ Eye Institute team.
Dr. Robert Lingua, M.D.
A pediatric ophthalmologist by profession, Dr. Robert Lingua caters to the communities of Clifton, NJ, and his patients visit him at New York Eye Institute & Laser Vision Center. Dr. Lingua earned his medical degree at the University of Southern California. He then pursued a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the University of Southern California, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Lingua provides eye emergency visits, Lasik surgery, comprehensive dilated eye exams, and follow-ups while treating issues such as dry eyes, cataracts, allergic eye problems, and vision loss
